Community Guaranty Savings Bank is pleased to sponsor Saving with Mandy & Randy at six local area elementary schools. This program helps elementary teachers teach and reinforce concepts related to money, savings and financial responsibility. The material covers the gamut: identifying coins, adding and subtracting cents and dollars, savings deposits, withdrawals and more. When they finish, students understand the importance of saving even small amounts regularly, as a means of achieving financial goals. If we can help children at an early age learn good money habits right from the start, it will pay big dividends for them and the community. Representatives of the bank provide classroom presentations if requested.
We are pleased to sponsor this program at one of our area high schools. The curriculum covers things like how to budget and reach goals like buying a car, starting a family or paying for higher education. It stresses the importance of saving regularly and teaches about interest compounding. It also addresses establishing credit, credit ratings, everything related to checking accounts, electronic banking and identity theft. All of these valuable life lessons help ensure financial responsibility. Representatives of the bank provide classroom presentations if requested.
